Applying 0.2% SAP in red soil, the saturated soil moisture content is 64.94% which increased 22.31% than control, the available soil water content is 41.35%, which increase 36.47% than control;

Applying 0.2% SAP in sandy soil, the saturated soil moisture contentis 34.78%, which increased 32.60% than control, the available soil water content is 30.90%, which increased 37.7% than control;

Effectiveness in Soils

It can notably improve soil structure reduce soil bulk density and increase the soil porosity. In red soil, applying 0.1% 0.2% 0.4% , the soil bulk density decreased .33%, 11% 14.68%; in sandy soil, applying 01% 0.2% 0.4%, the soil bulk density decreased 9.35% ,12.95%, 15.11% , but two soil porosity increase with the increasing of SAP.

WATERRETAINING AGENT

Water retaining agent is a kind of polymer with super absorbent, water retention and water release abilities. Containing a large number of strong hydrophilic groups, it can rapidly absorb several hundred times deionized water or tens of times saline heavier than itself and creates a small reservoir nutrients. Therefore, the water retaining agent could effectively reduce deep percolation of irrigation water and fertilizer, improve utilization of water and fertilizer, enhance the water retention of soil and control the evaporation of water in order to meet the needs of plant growth. It can also improve soil structure increase soil activity, reduce soil compaction and promote rot growth and development.

 

Application of SAP in other areas

Super Absorbent polymer can be used in water-blocking tape of cable to prevent cable against water. It is also can be used in oil-water separation, baby inflates, expanding rubber, plugging agent, moisture absorption machine in cabin and concrete curing, etc.
